Abstract

Pengukuran kemampuan berpikir logis siswa adalah salah satu bagian penting dalam pembelajaran matematika dan sains. Karena hasil pengukuran kemampuan berpikir logis siswa dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam merancang strategi mengajar sekaligus dapat digunakan oleh guru untuk memahami tingkat perkembangan kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kemampuan berpikir logis siswa SMP Kelas VII. Subjek penelitian diambil dari 88 siswa Kelas VII sebuah SMP di Kabupaten Tuban Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen Tes Kemampuan Berpikir Logis (TKBL) yang memuat enam jenis penalaran, yaitu; penalaran konservasional, penalaran proporsional, variabel pengontrol, penalaran kombinatorik, penalaran probabilistik, dan penalaran korelasional. Dari skor TKBL diklasifikasikan dalam tiga tingkat, yaitu; tingkat operasional konkret, tingkat transisional, dan tingkat operasional formal. Penelitian ini didapatkan hasil 2,27 % siswa Kelas VII di tingkat operasional formal, 13,63 % pada tingkat transisional dan 84,1% di tingkat operasional konkret.
