Abstract

Mikroplastik (pecahan plastik berukuran plastik <5 mm) di sepanjang pantai merupakan masalah yang yang harus dipecahkan di seluruh dunia, karena masuknya berasal dari limbah buangan berbagai kegiatan manusia. Untuk mengevaluasi tingkat pencemaran mikroplastik di sedimen pantai pada 45 lokasi di sepanjang pantai Kabupaten Tuban (±65 km), mikroplastik dikuantifikasi dan dikategorikan pada empat kelas ukuran yang berbeda. Pantai-pantai dikelompokkan berdasarkan potensi sumber pencemaran yaitu muara sungai, wisata pantai dan pemukiman. Sampel sedimen dikumpulkan dari garis pantai pasang tinggi menunjukkan kelimpahan mikroplastik signifikan lebih tinggi daripada pada garis pantai pasang terendah. Pantai yang berdekatan dengan sungai menunjukkan kelimpahan mikroplastik yang relatif lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang dipengaruhi oleh kegiatan wisata pantai dan pemukiman.
